Wow, a lot has happened since the last time I posted!
I ran and completed my first full marathon. Official time was 4 hours 42 minutes and 16 seconds. Not too bad for only 3 weeks notice and 1 long run (of only 16 miles) before race day.
I’ve had 3 more races since then. The Fathers Day 5K, Miller Family YMCA 4th of July 5K, the Arroyo Creek 5K (was my 3rd year running it!), my first runDisney event the Disneyland Half Marathon, the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation 5K and the Simi Valley Boys and Girls Club Fun Mud Run which I did with my daughters.
Next up is the Haunted Trails of the Night 5K at Paramount Ranch. It’s a nice trail run, so headlamps or flashlights are required. Looking forward to this one! After that is the Rock N Roll LA Half Marathon and then my next full marathon, which I am in week 10 of training for. Yes! This time I am doing a full training schedule. 16 weeks of rigorous training. I love it and I hate it. My mileage per week currently is up in the 30’s. After that, just a couple of 5Ks for the rest of the year. And then we go into training for the LA Marathon. SUPER excited for that one!
Today I also got the email that I was chosen to be a Girls Run Fast Ambassador!
This is a great group to be a part of. They are very involved in inspiring women and having women celebrate each other and our achievements.
