In 11 days I have my first full marathon. Originally my plan was to run my first full in November but the opportunity presented itself to run much sooner. Granted, I don’t have nearly as much time to train, but I’m doing my best. Upside is this one is mostly downhill so I have that to my advantage and it’s my first full so I have no time to beat, no personal best. I just have 1 goal which I’m keeping quietly to myself till afterwards.
This morning, I got up before work to get my run in since it’s the middle of May in So Cal and temps are supposed to be nearing 100 soon, not to mention it’s pretty windy out. After taking 2 days off of running, my legs were definitely tired but needed the workout. I got 4 miles in and called it a morning and walked the 1.5 miles home.
The last 1.5 miles, I thought about what I need to be doing for the next 11 days. Run/walk everyday and make sure I’m eating well. I have a habit of eating when I’m bored which means I need to stay busy ALL THE TIME for the next 11 days. Fortunately I have a dog who needs to be walked, a daughter who needs to be entertained and a boyfriend who will let me do it all if I want.
